Sneak Peek at Sony Ericsson G705 Slider Phone

Although the language pack currently being displayed on the leaked unit is clearly not English, these pictures do provide an excellent look at a yet unannounced phone by Sony Ericsson. A slick sliding phone with likely multimedia-minded features, the Sony Ericsson G705 seems to boast an interesting two tone design.

The top half is a piano black, highlighted by some shiny silver bits for face buttons. Open the phone, however, and you discover a matte white (almost eggshell) finish with the numeric keypad. In terms of features, people are saying it runs on the A2 platform and gets a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, media player, and Memory Stick Micro expansion. There's also mention of WLAN.

The Sony Ericsson W1i Concept Phone

This is a concept phone and it'll never be on sale, but I though that it was a well-done concept in terms of aesthetics, done by ToShaRa from se-nse.net. If I saw one of these in public, it would definitely catch my eye.

The W1i from Sony Ericsson, complete with Walkman branding, sports specifications that are a little...incongruous, not to mention far-fetched. Running on Windows Mobile Professional, it's got 120GB of memory, an Intel 2.0GHz CPU, Carl Zeiss optics used on the camera (of which there are two), three 6 watt speakers, plus the usual support for microSD, GPS, and WiFi. Oh, and the screen is SXGA resolution (yeah, that's 2048x1024), which of course Windows Mobile doesn't support.

It's packing a 15,000mAh battery which allows you to use the phone for 30 minutes of talk and 3 hours of standby. To keep size and weight down on the phone, the user must carry around a 3.5lb power pack that provides the juice for the W1i.

Yeah, that last part I made up, but would probably be true if a device with these sort of specifications ever came to fruition somehow.

Three New Walkman Phones Announced by Sony Ericsson

It's a little hard to believe, but the Walkman line of mobile phones from Sony Ericsson has been around for three whole years already. To celebrate this triumphant milestone, Sony Ericsson has officially announced no fewer than three new Walkman phones.

Starting from the left, we have the Sony Ericsson W302. The musical candybar comes equipped with FM radio and a 2 megapixel camera. Given the model number, we can probably expect a rather affordable price point. In the center is the Sony Ericsson W902. This candybar is a decided step up from the W302, tossing in a 5 megapixel camera and super high sound quality for all the audiophiles in the audience. Last but not least, we have the Sony Ericsson W595 slider with built-in stereo speakers.

All three phones have shake controls and quad-band GSM. Look for them to hit retailers before the end of the year.

Sony Ericsson announces W302 "Feng" music phone

Sony Ericsson has announced that it's to release the W302 Walkman music phone, based upon the S302 cameraphone, on 14th October.

Codenamed "Feng", it will feature two megapixel camera, 176x220 resolution screen, and presumably similar storage capabilities as the S302, but presumably with better musical abilities.

It's not due to be officially announced until next Tuesday, along with "Linda (W595), Alicia and Patty (W902)"

Whether it will come in any colours other than this delightful orange remains to be seen.
